Obamacare (ACA)

Dear [name]:
I currently work many hours and rely upon one employer for my family's health care. We are grateful for this coverage for ourselves and adult children.

One of the reasons we are happy with the Affordable Care Act is that young adults like ours can continue to be covered. This provision, like many aspects of it, are crucial for all Americans. Let us remember the days of pre-ACA: capricious and money-focused decisions were commonplace from insurance companies, the gatekeepers of coverage for most of our country's members.

Currently President Trump has said a replacement plan will be introduced for this landmark great achievement. Most all Americans expect better from our elected leaders so please work hard to ensure these provisions:

1. No pre-existing conditions for coverage; 2. Equal premiums for men and women; 3. Coverage for young adults to age 26; 4. Mental health coverage parity across the country; 5. Financial assistance for those who are in poverty range; 6. Expectation that all participate.

We would be most in favor of a universal coverage for all Americans, as other modern western Democratic countries enjoy.

Please do your very best to ensure these in the future.

Sincerely, [your name]
